Burnaby is a city located directly east of Vancouver and is the third largest city in British Columbia in terms of population. Burnaby houses over 205,000 people and is separated into a few different areas including Metrotown, Edmonds, the Heights, Lougheed and Brentwood. Burnaby is the home to Metropolis at Metrotown, the largest shopping mall in British Columbia with over 450 stores, a movie theatre and restaurants.
In addition, Burnaby has two of the most prestigious post-secondary institutions including Simon Fraser University and British Columbia Institute of Technology. In 2008, the Grand Villa Casino was built in the heart of Burnaby. The new Casino attracts both locals and visitors from all over the world. The many attractions, arts, shopping and parks makes Burnaby a very vibrant city to live.
